While Dr. Katz has a resume in the medical field that runs a mile long, he’s also incredibly down-to-earth and connected with what matters most in life: family, happiness, and quality of life. His ability to recognize challenges and offer integrative solutions is one of the reasons he’s such an inspiring leader in the IIN community.
Who is Dr. Katz?
David Katz, MD, MPH is the founding director of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and current president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He is also an associate professor of public health and the author of roughly 200 scientific articles and textbook chapters, as well as 15 books to date, including the Flavor Point Diet. When he’s not working, Dr. Katz is a devoted family man with 5 children!
What does he teach?
David Katz, MD, MPH, focuses on weight control and nutrition in the context of the global healthcare crisis. Dr. Katz sheds light on our biggest healthcare challenge to date: the lack of nutrition and lifestyle education. He teaches specific theories, tools, and techniques to solve that challenge every day, contributing to the ripple effect of health and happiness.
What do our students say?
“David Katz speaks with such passion and clarity. I really felt connected when I listened to his lecture. I love seeing traditional medical professionals (especially ones with his stature!) embracing the importance of a holistic and total mind and body approach. IINspring!” –Trina
“The idea that health begins at home as a family value is such a powerful yet simple truth that I deeply resonate with. Dr. Katz is a great example of what ALL doctors should aspire to be: a caring and thoughtful healer who doesn’t just manage symptoms but actually works to address the complex issues at the root of our current health crisis.” –Diana
“I loved all of the speakers, such as Dr. Hyman, David Wolfe, Dr. Katz, and Dr. Weil. Being able to have a few hours with some of the greatest minds in health and wellness from around the world was a dream come true and I would have never been able to participate in so many life-changing forums without IIN.” – Dimitri
