The Kids Menu: A New Film to Fight Childhood Obesity
Joe Cross first made headlines when he shared his personal health transformation in a 2010 documentary titled Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.
At the start of the film, Joe revealed a rare health condition made continually worse by poor eating habits and overmedication, and he became motivated to take wellness into his own hands. What followed was a remarkable journey as he traveled across the United States for 60 days while only drinking fresh juice and talking about health, food, and longevity with those he met along the way.
Since then, Joe has made it his mission to share the benefits of juicing and eating a clean diet. He’s joined our team of teachers at Integrative Nutrition, inspired thousands of people to begin their own wellness transformation, and has been a champion for positive change.
Now Joe is taking his message to a whole new generation with the film The Kids Menu.
Shocked by statistics showing that 1 in 3 children in America are overweight, Joe realized that educating kids about wellness is essential for preventing disease and creating a healthier and happier world. We couldn’t agree more! He spoke with kids, parents, educators, and experts to talk about how we’ve gotten so far off course and what can be done to address the root cause of childhood obesity.
The best part? The film sheds a light of hope in showing that when given the right balance of inspiration, information, and hands-on experience, most children are ready to accept a brighter future and a menu with more veggies.
The film will be released Friday, February 12th and is available to rent on Vimeo.
