As a Health Coach, an important part of the work is building open, trusting relationships with your clients. In coaching sessions, you must be present and focused throughout the entire conversation.

Unfortunately, sometimes it’s not so easy to turn down the constant running voices in your head – “Did I send that email?” or “Don’t forget the kids have a soccer match today!” and “I need to pick-up more kale for dinner.”

In the video below, Integrative Nutrition Founder and Director, Joshua Rosenthal, teaches a simple 5-second exercise to help you stay grounded, be present, and get comfortable connecting with others face to face. The result? Better, more effective coaching sessions and conversations.

Not a Health Coach yet?  Try this exercise the next time you meet up with a friend for lunch or have dinner with a loved one and see if the conversation goes deeper than ever before.
