It’s Health Coach Week! To celebrate, we’ll be featuring inspiring stories of Health Coaches who are doing amazing work in their homes, workplaces and communities. We’re excited to kick things off with Rosanna Queirolo, Class of 2015! She’s taking over our Instagram account today – follow along here to see what a day in her life looks like!
One of the coolest things about becoming an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is that upon graduation, the possibilities are endless. You could open a private practice, work in schools, medical offices, hospitals, with nonprofits, in restaurants, or create a product.
Some grads, like Rosanna, choose to do a little bit of everything!
With an impressive resume of Health Coach, Creative Director of two personal brands, restauranteur, TV host, author and mom to four, Rosanna has taken the wellness world by storm in her home country of Ecuador. She’s on a mission to create a ripple effect and bring awareness about health coaching to people through Latin America, and isn’t slowing down anytime soon! Read on to hear what led her to IIN, what she’s up to now and what’s in store for the future!
What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?
I was and am the owner and Creative Director of two brands: Blash, for fashion, home, beauty and sports; and Sanna, for healthy products. Both brands are sold in the #1 supermarket chain in Ecuador. I also own two slow-food restaurants and am the host of a lifestyle TV show called De Compras En Miami which is broadcast in 20 Hispanic-speaking countries including Mexico, Spain and Argentina.
What led you to explore the Health Coach Training Program?
I’ve been reading about nutrition and exploring different diets for 20 years. I'm also an athlete and love all sort of sports. I wanted (and needed) to learn more about nutrition and health because of my work as a creative director and restauranteur. So when a friend of mine recommended I enroll at IIN,I did.
How did your life change after enrolling?
Being a Health Coach has opened so many opportunities in my life. I'm about to launch my wellness magazine this month called SANNA. I'm also launching my website with beautiful wellness information, videos, blog posts and social media. Finally, I will likely be hosting a TV show as a Health Coach, very similar to Biggest Loser, on the biggest network in Ecuador.
Which topics and modules were most beneficial for you?
Dr. Daniel Amen was memorable; I was impressed by the way food affects our brain as he explained. I also loved modules on raw food, candida, how to manage social media, finances, cooking, and more!
What are you up to now?
I will launch my first book halfway through this year, with the #1 worldwide publisher! The purpose of this book is to transform the life of families in Latin America by helping them change their lifestyles though primary and secondary foods: career, relationships, spirituality, exercise and nutrition. I want to create a ripple effect in society so that people can achieve a happier and healthier life. I'm also developing an essential oils line for the Latin American market with a major worldwide enterprise. I hope to help many people though my magazine, website, products, book and TV show.
What do you love about your work?
Everything! What I do, the people that work with me, my country, my business partners. I love the fact that my brands Blash and Sanna provide work for more than 2,500 people in Ecuador. Through Blash, I’m able to donate to Fundacion VIHDA annually, an organization which helps babies infected with the HIV virus before they were born.
Is there a need for Health Coaches where you live?
Yes! The percentage of overweight people in Ecuador is more than 50%. Many people are unhealthy and unhappy. Nobody in my country knows what a Health Coach does, so I believe there is a huge opportunity here to grow very fast and help lots of people. I want to create a ripple effect that starts here and covers all of Latin America!
