What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

Prior to enrolling at IIN, I was working as a yoga instructor and yoga therapist. It was during my yoga therapy with patients that I realized people need more than physical therapy and meditation. They want to speak up and express what they feel. At times, I have also experienced that patients just want to talk about their innermost feelings and their life, instead of the physical therapy I was offering as a therapist. During these times, I used to feel that I really didn’t know how to react/respond or about the art of listening with an open heart. Food and nutrition were also aspects that patients wanted to know more about to address their conditions.

How did your life change after enrolling?

With the concern of how to help people better, I enrolled at IIN. Although I was looking to do a course on psychology and nutrition, I found IIN offered both as a holistic health approach. I have experienced severe forms of anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, so I have seen and felt pain.

Being a yoga instructor, I doubted myself as I felt I couldn’t manage my own emotions and always felt the yoga philosophy was a bit hard to absorb and follow. It talks about self-inquiry but doesn’t have any formal questions that can be used as a guide.

I joined IIN thinking I would help others as I was finding it very fulfilling, but I ended up coaching myself. I really felt during the course that it provided a step-by-step approach, very accessible with the right questions asked, which really makes you think about different aspects of life. I have a new perspective toward life: It can be full of struggles, but if you know how to navigate them, it becomes beautiful, and IIN taught me how to navigate through them.

The most profound concepts I found in the course were self-care, active listening, primary food, and bio-individuality. Although I found all concepts worth it, these resonated with me. I really liked all the speakers, and I still go back to listen to some of their lectures and make notes as I like to keep reading until it becomes a part of me.

I never had thought about coaching as I have been on the seat where I was being coached so many times that this never even struck me that I could even do that. I do feel formal learning is very important, but experiencing pain in real life is what makes me understand people better when they share their struggles. I do feel people find me very easy to connect with, open up, and trust throughout the process as they feel I am genuine and authentic with my approach, which I feel is very natural to me. I hope to take a step ahead and see how I can connect with more communities and offer such help.

Thanks, IIN, for this amazing journey. You have changed many people’s lives, including mine. Keep doing the good work!!!

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

Before IIN, I was dedicated to my family and was passionate about health. During this time, I was struck by an autoimmune disease, which led me on a transformational journey.

How did your life change after enrolling?

My life changed radically: I found my purpose! I learned that being healthy encompasses much more than the food on our plate and exercise and that everything must have balance. I learned to see health in a holistic way. I learned to listen to my body and follow my intuition.
