A note from Joshua, founder and primary teacher here at IIN:
Hey everyone! Joshua here. I’m so honored to meet so many of my incredible graduates, and today I’m excited to introduce you to Cindy Santa Ana, a true example of what can happen with an IIN education.
How did you first hear about IIN and what inspired you to enroll?
At 40, I was headed downhill fast. I was 50 pounds overweight, had high cholesterol, migraines, frequent illnesses, and an out-of-control thyroid problem.
I had just moved from sunny San Diego to cold, dreary Northern Virginia in the middle of winter. I sat through four months of several feet of snow and had no friends and no support. I eventually couldn't make it through the day without a nap with my toddler.
When spring arrived, my neighbors started coming outside and I began to meet them. It turned out my next-door neighbor was an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
We began talking and sharing our health concerns. She enlisted me in one of her health coaching programs, and that's when everything turned around for me. I lost 50 pounds and got off four medications! I discovered what wasn't working for my body and had a complete and total health transformation. Even my husband lost some weight!
After a year passed, my children were going to be starting elementary school and it was time for me to consider going back to work. I asked my neighbor about IIN and she said to go for it! I jumped right in and began my coaching career.
How did you find your niche market and start working as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach while at IIN?
I found that I excelled at supporting others with weight loss and cooking classes. I now teach classes all over Northern Virginia and do demos at numerous farmers’ markets. I also just wrote my first book, Unprocessed Living, and my second one is due out fall 2015.
What else is going on for you since graduating? What’s new and exciting
I'm getting inquiries from publishers, will be on local TV, and in a national women's magazine in October.
How has IIN changed your life?
IIN has taken me places that I never dreamed I would be. I’ve found my passion in helping others achieve the health of their dreams. I'm really lucky to have found this and so fortunate that health coaching is a real career, although I never call it that. It's not just my job, it’s my life!
