Deciding to pursue your passion and start a career you’ve always dreamed of brings on feeling of both excitement and nervousness. While it’s completely normal to be uncomfortable or overwhelmed at the thought of sharing your new venture at first, it will become easier over time. You’ll feel more confident letting others know what you’re doing and what you can offer as a Health Coach.
Use this time of change to explore your curiosities! Have conversations you’ve always wanted to have and begin creating a solid foundation of experience and credibility. Health Coaches go on to do amazing things by creating positive change in the world. The more you share and the more work you do, the more confident you’ll become in sharing your journey and helping others along the way.
If you’re unsure where to begin, try one of these tips!
1. Start where you’re already comfortable.
If you’ve been going to the same yoga studio or gym or been seeing the same chiropractor or acupuncturist for some time, these could be the perfect places to get started on sharing your new career. You’re already recognizable with these like-minded people and places, so you’re familiar with the environment and likely going to get a positive reaction that will be motivating and encouraging.
This is also a great time to give out your business card. Many studios have community boards with local businesses that can attract clients, and if you give out your business card, others can share for you.
2. Make small but significant changes.
Including your career title and new certificate in your social media bio is a small change that can go a long way. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter are all great social media platforms that allow you to give a little insight into who you are through a bio. Use Integrative Nutrition’s tags so that people can see you’re a credible source for wellness. Once you begin posting more healthy and nutrition-related content, your friends and followers will see your new venture and what you’re capable of. Plus, anyone who may be interested in learning more can reach out to you.
3. Tell your loved ones.
Telling your friends, family, and colleagues about your new credentials can effortlessly lead to conversations you might not expect. This is a way to share with people who love you. Often, others will share that they or someone they know has been looking for advice and support in making adjustments to their current lifestyle. You can provide that!
Creating a life of your dreams isn’t always a breeze. Remember to be your authentic self and that it’s okay to be vulnerable. As a Health Coach, you are making an impact on others’ health and happiness, which is well worth sharing!
