We’re excited to introduce our May Sampson Foundation winner, Rachael Presley. Rachael was awarded free tuition to our Health Coach Training Program this month for her passion about health and wellness and desire to use an Integrative Nutrition education to better her community!
Here’s a bit of Rachael’s story in her own words:
When I returned to Florida to care for my Grandmother as she passed from breast cancer, I began coaching everyone on using heath as your medicine.
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at 24 and within a few months it developed into ovarian cancer. I turned vegetarian, started studying herbs, exercising, and taking things such as turmeric, moringa, and cinnamon every day. After six years I'm cancer free. I watched my grandmother pass from cancer while caring for her. I only wish I could have helped sooner and gotten her healthy 15 years ago when she was diagnosed so she would be here.
I would love to become a Health Coach to reach out to other cancer patients on using natural remedies. I survived two types of cancer six years ago and after multiple surgeries, I turned holistic and have been cancer free ever since. There are many gathering places locally such as Living Green Cafe, Dandelion Communitea, or Healthy Buddah here in Central Florida where the owners would allow me to do free coaching in both group and one-on-one sessions for those who need it at no cost.
I also would love to help new mothers as I recently had a son and have seen post-partum depression due to body image and could help others who suffer by changing their diet. I would love to be their strength and show them the joy of achieving something you never thought possible. I've always lived by one motto, Teach Peace. Above all else, teach peace. I want to help others. I want to help everyone. I want to change lives so their loved ones never go through what I have.
