We’ve made some incredible progress since we started celebrating National Health Coach Week!
For over 25 years, Integrative Nutrition has been leading the charge in putting Health Coaches at the front of the global wellness revolution. As part of this effort, we now have Health Coach Week – a movement focused on increasing the visibility of Health Coaches around the world and campaigning for preventive care to help reduce healthcare costs. We also strive to bring greater recognition to the Health Coach Training Program offered at Integrative Nutrition.
Our Health Coach advocates have been busy on the Hill this past week, gathering support and sharing how valuable Health Coaches will be in addressing preventable disease and reducing healthcare costs in the years to come.
On Tuesday, we hosted approximately one hundred Health Coaches and members of Congress and the media at our Health Coach Capitol Hill Briefing. We discussed the need for Health Coaches and mindfulness as important tools to reduce chronic disease and increase health and happiness.
We also participated in Health Coach Lobby Day this week. Thirty Health Coaches and IIN staff met with members of Congress in support of the Health and Wellness Coach Resolution, which now has seventeen cosponsors (more than ever before!).
Special thanks to Lu Hanessian, award-winning science journalist, author, and former NBC Network and Discovery Health Channel host; Megan Kalocinski, IIN Health Coach, mother, teacher, business owner, and spouse of a Navy SEAL; Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), who spoke about the importance of Health Coaches in policy and people’s lives; and Steven Schultz, legislative aide with Rep. Donald Payne Jr.’s office and original sponsor of the House Health Coach Resolution.
We’d also like to thank everyone who participated around the globe! Check out our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using #IINHealthCoachWeek, #HealthCoachWeek, #IINHealthCoach, and #IINCongress for pictures and posts from this week!
