The mission of creating a healthier, happier world is a lofty one, but it’s absolutely possible if we all contribute in our own unique ways – whether as individuals or organizations.
Here at Institute for Integrative Nutrition, we do that through our Health Coach Training Program, educating, inspiring, and empowering Health Coaches to help others get on the path to wellness. But it doesn’t stop there! We LOVE the many nonprofits who are also contributing to this shared goal in a variety of ways.
Throughout the years, we have made charitable donations to dozens of nonprofit organizations, and we thought we’d share some of those with you today. Whether you are a Health Coach or simply a mindful, caring person, donating any amount to causes you believe in is a great way to contribute and be of service in the world. We all benefit when the people around us are nourished.
Here are 5 nutrition and wellness organizations we support:
Focused on feeding hungry New Yorkers, City Harvest collects excess food from restaurants, caterers, farms, and markets, and delivers them free of charge to soup kitchens, food pantries, and other community food programs in the five boroughs. Not only does this result in providing nutrition for those who need it most, it reduces the environmental impact of food that would otherwise go to waste.
This nonprofit inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools. They do this through meaningful public-private partnerships, providing wholesome meals, active recess periods, and long-term culture shifting in schools.
American Nutrition Association
Promoting optimal health through nutrition and wellness education, this organization provides nutrition education in schools, hosts a speakers bureau for presentations to schools, community groups and other local organizations, and releases a quarterly news journal.
Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs that provides food and services to people each year. They also support programs that improve food security among the people they serve; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.
National Health Freedom Coalition
This organization works to promote the health of all people in the United States. This is done through conferences, legislation, consulting, special publications and materials, fundraising, and public speaking. They seek to promote access to all health care information, services, treatments and products that the people deem beneficial for their own health and survival, as well as an understanding of the laws and factors impacting this right to access.
