When Tom and Julie Meekins’ daughter was diagnosed with severe developmental difficulties, they decided to take action to do whatever they could to help her. Julie got certified in neurodevelopmental treatment, and both Tom and Julie became certified Health Coaches through IIN before founding The March Forth Family. The company empowers parents, and teaches them how to work with their developmentally challenged children and help them thrive. Combining nutrition, neurodevelopmental techniques, and lots of heart, the Meekins help struggling families march forth.
By applying the IIN model to child development, and drawing from a deep well of love and a passion to help families in situations similar to their own, the Meekins coach parents, giving them the skills and support they need. “We teach the parents to evaluate their own children,” Tom says. “As Parent Coaches, we are coaching parents to do the work.” Julie sums up their philosophy perfectly: “Pick the people who you want to serve, and just give, give, give, give, give.”
This video was released last night, at the close of the IIN Live Conference in New York City, and was received with laughter and tears by the crowd at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The emotional impact of the video resonated with the audience and presenters alike, resulting in a heartfelt—and tearful—farewell address. The Meekins, who were in attendance, received a standing ovation for their work.
