Since graduating from the Health Coach Training Program last year, Lindsay Mack has built a successful career around empowerment, knowledge, and self-love.
As a resident actor turned Health Coach who treated her lifelong anxiety and depression with diet and lifestyle changes, Lindsay now teaches other women that self-healing in an all-natural way is possible.
This is why her company Sophrosune Wellness emphasizes body communication and self-love instead of cutting calories or dieting. Lindsay believes that with a healthy and balanced frame of mind, the desired weight will come effortlessly. What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?
I was a resident actor at a professional theatre company in Manhattan and I worked 60 hours a week to support my art. I was miserable, unhealthy, and always broke. I was also on medication for lifelong issues with anxiety, panic, and depression. I was sick, sad, and really lost.
What led you to explore the Health Coach Training Program?
At first my goal was to heal my health issues and find a more fulfilling job to support my acting career, but what I gained from the program was all of that and more.
Due to the knowledge I acquired at Integrative Nutrition, I adjusted my diet and incorporated yoga, meditation, and mindfulness techniques. This got me off my medication, and my anxiety and depression have all but vanished.
I also realized halfway through the program that I no longer wanted to pursue acting (BIGGEST life change ever) because I had a higher calling as a Health Coach.
Which topics and modules were most beneficial for you?
As a sufferer of disordered eating, listening to Geneen Roth really changed my life, as did Julia Ross. Her lecture on the Mood Cure was one of the biggest keys to my healing. Mark Hyman was also a huge influence.
What projects are you currently working on?
I am the co-owner and co-founder of Sophrosune Wellness in Manhattan, which combines yoga and health coaching to help stressed-out women slow down, listen to their bodies, and fall in love with themselves.
We just taught our spring workshop in New Jersey and we’re taking it to Manhattan and Brooklyn within the month. We’re also developing a summer cleanse series.
What do you love about your work?
I love seeing my clients grow and blossom. And I REALLY love hearing them honor themselves and discovering that the answers are really within. I also love being part of such a cutting-edge nutrition community, which is truly like no other.
