Living Healthy with Kenrese Young

Integrative Nutrition graduates are finding their calling to help others heal in various aspects of their lives. We caught up with Kenrese Young, Motivational Speaker and Health Coach to find out more about her practice and how Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program impacted her life.

What were you doing before Integrative Nutrition?

Before Integrative Nutrition I was working as a Senior Product Development Executive. I was also actively searching for my purpose as I felt there was more I could be doing.

What led you to explore Integrative Nutrition’s program?

During my purpose-driven search I came across the program. When I saw what it had to offer I couldn’t find any other institution with the flexibility and mobility to study (iPod rocks!). Plus, the overview of the curriculum looked quite alluring and the cost was well below other places I had looked at.

What happened since you enrolled in Integrative Nutrition’s program?

Wow, where do I begin? Since enrolling and completing the program I have found myself on stage, literally and figuratively. I have unearthed a talent of motivating and inspiring people, been paid to speak to several companies and entities, appeared on a cooking show, written articles and so much more

What did you learn at Integrative Nutrition?

I learned so much. What stood out for me was bio-individuality (no one diet is suited for every group of persons, so assess each person on an individual basis) and primary foods (not the ones we put on our plates, but other factors that feed us such as our career and spirituality). I have also learned to be humble in my knowledge, to allow people to choose what best serves them, to listen more and talk less, the art of good coaching, how to take better care of myself, and that the only limits on achieving anything resides solely in me.

What do you love about the school?

I love many things about IIN. I love that it allows us to express ourselves in the forums and encourages us to think beyond the limits. I love the diversity of the students and the wealth of knowledge that comes with that. In my year we had persons who were doctors, yoga instructors, executives (like myself), computer programmers, and all other kinds of people. It’s truly a melting pot.

How has studying with an international Health Coach Training Program benefited you?

It has opened me up to learning about many things that were outside of my home country. It also benefited me in ways that are truly hard to express. It has really made me a more well rounded person in all areas of my life. I feel more balanced that I was before.

Is there a need for Health Coaches in your area of the world?

There is definitely a need for Health Coaches in Jamaica.

What do you love about your work?

I love seeing clients transformed or awakened into their authentic self. I love to see them overcoming challenges and saying they are happy they could do this. And I love that I get paid for doing what I love to do. There is truly never a dull day.

Tell us about your practice.

My practice is called Rese Young My Living Healthy, and it’s forever evolving. I started mainly doing one-on-ones, focusing on digestive issues, anxiety, depression and, of course, a bit of weight loss. However, I would also get people who were interested in mind work and spirituality from a lifestyle perspective. Today my main focus is creating wellness programs for companies and organizations and doing inspirational and motivational speaking. I am happiest when I am doing a speaking engagement with a group or large audience. Most of the talks are focused on empowerment and living the best you.
