One of the biggest athletic events in America is taking place this weekend in Dallas, Texas. The Pittsburgh Steelers will go up against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Super Bowl XLV. It might seem unusual that we are mentioning the Super Bowl on our health and wellness blog, but at least one Integrative Nutrition Graduate will be there. She won’t be talking about touchdowns though! Melanie Albert founder of Experience Nutrition Group is an “Official Health & Wellness Partner of the NFL Alumni Association”.
We caught up with Melanie before she heads off to Super Bowl XLV.
What were you doing before Integrative Nutrition?
For nearly two decades, I was a successful, award-winning corporate marketing, advertising, and public relations executive in Fortune 500 companies, and for the last 7 years have been a marketing consultant in the licensing and trend area with Weil Lifestyle / Andrew Weil, M.D.
What led you to explore Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program?
Immediately prior to enrolling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I was a consultant to Weil Lifestyle / Andrew Weil, M.D. I knew that Andy (Weil) was a lecturer at Integrative Nutrition, (IIN) so I asked him about the program. Based on Andy’s positive recommendation that I’d enjoy the program, I immediately enrolled.
“Based on Andy’s [Andrew Weil, M.D’s] positive recommendation that I’d enjoy the program, I immediately enrolled.”
What happened since you enrolled in Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program?
My passion is healthy food and football. After three years of focus, persistence, relationship building, and massive action, I am proud and delighted that my company, Experience Nutrition Group, LLC, is an “Official Health & Wellness Partner of the NFL Alumni Association”. The mission of Experience Nutrition is to help fight the obesity, heart disease, and diabetes epidemics alongside former professional athletes, beginning with the NFL Alumni Association, with sound nutrition experiences and healthy food products.
What did you learn at Integrative Nutrition?
Reflecting on IIN, one of the most important areas of learning was actually implementing nutrition theories that I was already aware of and those new to me to determine my own healthy eating bio-individuality. These personal experiences have been the foundation for the education that I now share in books, blogs, and events.
What do you love about the school?
The school is life-changing. I honestly believe that my experience at Integrative Nutrition has totally changed my life, especially in the business area. The school has given me the credentials and voice to be a leader, expert, and author in the integrative nutrition world.
What do you love about your work?
I love working experientially alongside my clients to guide them to learn what to eat, why to eat, and how to prepare simple healthy foods. I also love writing about good nutrition; my second book will be published in 2011.
