History
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition was founded in 1992 by Joshua Rosenthal, MscEd. His unique vision for an educational program that integrated nutrition and progressive education into its curriculum has propelled the school forward from what was once a small venture, offering only a few classes per year, to the world’s largest nutrition school with an annual enrollment of more than 1,600 students from all over the world.
The school’s guest teachers are the world’s greatest nutrition and personal development experts such as Mehmet Oz, MD; Andrew Weil, MD; Barry Sears, PhD; Deepak Chopra, Neal Barnard, MD; Mark Hyman, MD; Michael Jacobson, PhD; Stephan Rechtschaffen, MD; Geneen Roth, Paul Pitchford, Debbie Ford and Howard Lyman.
In the last five years, the school has held classes in the prestigious Time Warner Center in New York City, published five books and launched a new website. Starting in 2009, classes will be held in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. This move will allow us to accommodate a greater number of students.
The school is a hyper-growth organization and continues to expand. Its evolution has taken place with a firm commitment to exceptional education and comprehensive customer service. As such, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition retains its feel of a small, start-up company and takes pride in being a force for change in the United States and beyond.
